INN & OUT: WARSAW, POLAND

Looking to enjoy Eastern Europe… a little history… a little vodka… and pierogis?!

I went to Warsaw in the summer of 2025 to see Public Enemy & Guns & Roses.

Scroll down to see where I’d go again:

RESTAURANTS:

UWieniaway: Located in the historic center of the Poland’s capital, this restaurant is everything one can imagine in high quality Polish cuisine. Its vibrant, has a top notch staff, great for groups and named after pre-war General Wieniawa-Dlugozowski.

Tip: One has to have pierogis in Poland and the beefU Wieniaway carpaU Wieniawayccio is made right in front of you!

HOTELS:

Hotel Bristol: It blew my mind that this is one of the few structures that survived World War II unscathed. How come?

It was made into German headquarters during the Nazi occupation. It’s gorgeous on the outside and in and is now part of Marriott’s ‘Luxury Collection,’ so yeah… you can score some Bonvoy points or… use them.

Tip: The bar / restaurants here were GREAT. Column Bar by day (have some vodka) / Lane’s Gin Bar by night.

LIBATIONS:

ElKoktel: I found this cocktail bar extremely welcoming as the mixologists were interactive on the way in & out!

ACTIVITIES:

Palace of Culture & Science: Originally known as the ‘Joseph Stalin Palace of Culture & Science,’ - whoa - this 1955 structure was once on of the tallest buildings in Europe and controversial. Housing was desperately needed in war-torn Poland and several servicable buildings were demolished to make room for it. But, panoramic views on its 30th floor, I hear, are fantastic.

Tip: At night this place becomes a fun indoor / outdoor club with DJ’s. See if there’s a party tonight?

Cheers, gents!
